WARRANTY INFORMATION

We take pride in sourcing furniture made with premium materials, with attention to fine detail and fine craftsmanship. We completely stand behind the quality of all our products, so you can buy directly from us with confidence. Sometimes things happen that are beyond our control. If in the unlikely event, your item arrives in less than perfect condition please call us at (03) 8678 1852 or email us at info@thefurniturepeople.com.au and we will make it right.

LIMITED WARRANTY TERMS

The Furniture People (TFP) warranty is available only to you, the original purchaser, and becomes effective with your delivery date. Upon claim of warranty, the Proof of Purchase should be presented and the Warranty Period should still be valid.

Our focus is to bring you quality furniture at warehouse prices. We price our products to include 1 year standard warranty. Depending on items, extra warranty of up to 5 years is available for purchase. We price warranty as an add-on and offer our clients the ability to meet their individual needs.

HARD MATERIAL

Wood 1 Year Because wood furniture is a product of nature, characteristics such as knots, grain and color variation and mineral streaking are not defects and are thus not warranted.
Marble & Stone 1 Year Nature’s own imperfections such as random mineral streaking and color variation should be expected (and desired) and are not warranted.
Glass and minor components 1 Year Natural glass manufacture characteristics such as small air bubbles, surface waviness and light pitting are to be expected and are not defects. Glasstabletops should not be used as a seating option.

SOFT MATERIAL

Frames & Springs 1 Year The construction of the internal frame is covered against manufacturing and material defects.
Cushion Cores, Pillow Inserts Back Cushions, Back Pillows and Padding 1 Year All cushions and pillows will naturally soften with normal use. This is not a material or manufacturing defect. Warranty does not cover any normal softening of cushion core, flattening of a fiber top or loss of loft nor any change to the upholstery as a result of incorrect maintenance, damage to the upholstery as a result of the application of chemicals, cleaners or conditioners not endorsed by TFP.
Sleeper & Recliner Mechanisms 1 Year The suspension system, stitching, and mechanisms are covered against defects.
Coverings : Fabric& Leather 1 Year Warranted against manufacturing and material defects. We cover you if the leather splits or tears due to manufacturing and material defects. Warranty does not cover any change to the upholstery as a result of incorrect maintenance, damage to the upholstery as a result of the application of chemicals, cleaners or conditioners not endorsed by TFP. We don’t cover damage to fabric and leather coverings caused by damage done by pets (scratches), the transfer of perspiration, body oils or the corrosive ingredients contained in personal care products such as hair gels and skin creams. Discolouration of fabric and leather coverings resulting from exposure to sunlight, extreme heat or similar conditions are not covered. Damages resulting from dye transfer from rugs, cushions, jeans and other clothing are not covered. Nature’s own characteristics such as wrinkling, marking and variations in grain or color are not covered. Furniture repaired by contractors not endorsed by The Furniture People. The cost of transportation from the purchaser to our warehouse, if claim is not covered by the standard warranty conditions. Natural settlement of foam and fabric or leather upholstery due to normal wear and tear. Leather sagging. Normal wear and tear that will cause fillings such as polyester fibre and leather to settle.

GENERAL WARRANTY COVERAGE EXCLUSIONS

Place of Purchase: This warranty protects furniture purchased directly from TFP.

Floor Samples, Clearance or As-Is Purchases: This warranty protects furniture purchased directly from TFP.

Household Use: This warranty applies only when you have purchased furniture for household use, and not for resale or commercial use.

Improper Care and Use: Proper care and usage are essential to preserving your rights under this warranty. This warranty does not apply if your furniture purchased at TFP is damaged by the use of detergents, abrasives or other harsh cleaning agents.

Accidents, Abuse and Normal Wear & Tear: This warranty does not cover damage resulting from negligence, abuse, normal wear and tear, or accidents: including (but not limited to) burns, cuts, scratches, tears, scuffs, watermarks, indentations or pet damage.

Product Modifications: Any product modification by retailer, consumer or other parties not authorized by TFP will void this warranty.

Damaged packaging upon delivery: If you see obvious damage to your order’s shipping box or packaging, please ask the driver to open the carton and inspect the contents with you. If you find damage, refuse the shipment and write Refused due to damage on the delivery receipt, keep a copy of the delivery receipt with your notes regarding the damage and contact us on (03) 8678 1852 or email us at info@thefurniturepeople.com.au immediately.

Please keep all original packaging materials for 30 days to return an order in the rare case you discover damage or defects after delivery.

If you discover damage or a defect after delivery, contact us on (03) 8678 1852 or email us at info@thefurniturepeople.com.au. We will work to resolve the issue and, in our sole discretion, we may:
  • Authorize a return.
  • Issue a replacement.
  • Issue a refund.
